NFIB Announces 2012 National “Young Entrepreneur of the Year”: Oceanside, CA Teenager Recognized with $10,000 Scholarship

Catherine Mitchell of Oceanside, CA, has been named the 2012 Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mitchell, the founder of Beauty 4 Life, a socially-minded business that sells jewelry handcrafted by Ugandan women, was awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

Update: Deadline for Young Entrepreneur Awards Scholarship Now January 4

Since 2003, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded 2,095 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling $2,382,000. Students are encouraged to apply for our awards beginning October 1, 2011 and may apply until December 15, 2011.

Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Applications Now Available Online

We interrupt our series on teaching finance to bring you some exciting news

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 16 — Attention all high-school seniors – do you think you have what it takes to be recognized as a 2009 Young Entrepreneur Award Winner? It’s time to find out. Scholarship applications are now available for the 2009 Young Entrepreneur Awards, a scholarship program sponsored by the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation.

Starting October 16, students can visit www.NFIB.com/YEA to apply for a scholarship online. For the online application process, students will need to enter the access key “NFIB.” The deadline for applying for a 2009 YEF Award is December 15, 2008. For more, see press release.
