The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation (YEF) is a 501(c)3 organization affiliated with the nation’s leading small business association, the National Federation of Independent Business. The non profit YEF is building the next generation of small business owners and entrepreneurs by providing entrepreneurship education to high school students in the classroom.

Our curriculum supplements and programming provide vital, real-world lessons to help teens understand and appreciate starting, owning and managing a small business. In doing so, we educate youth about the critical role of small businesses and the American free enterprise system. Learn more about YEF.

Kathy Korman Frey,  founder of The Hot Mommas Project, is an entrepreneur in residence and adjunct professor of Management at the George Washington University School of Business, Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence. There, Frey has taught and helped develop a number of entrepreneurship courses. She currently teaches Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership which received a National Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Award. The Hot Mommas® Project is the world’s largest collection of digital mentors and role models for use by trainers, educators, and women around the globe. The venture’s learning tools measurably increase confidence and key success factors 66 percent in three hours, and 200 percent in a semester.  Hot Mommas® Project represents Frey’s eighth venture as an entrepreneur and intrapreneur after consulting with leading Fortune 500 companies on merger and acquisition and competitive intelligence, serving as a c-level executive for the National Council on the Aging Development Corporation, and as Managing Director of Vision Forward. Frey serves on the board of United Women in Business and is a former two-term board member of the Alzheimer’s Association, National Capital Area. She is a Washington Business Journal 2010 Woman Who Means Business and is the 2011 founding DC National Association of Women Business Owner’s Woman of Distinction. Frey earned her BA in English from The University of Virginia and her MBA from Harvard Business School.

Molly Young manages the Young Entrepreneur Foundation of NFIB, the educational foundation that encourages young people to become entrepreneurs and teaches them the skills necessary to do so.  Here, she develops curriculum, manages the Young Entrepreneur Awards scholarship program, and works with funders to secure donations and manage grants. Prior to NFIB, Young worked as the Director of Youth Opportunities at National 4-H Council, where she created and managed the citizenship and leadership programming of 4-H at the national level where she worked with over 10,000 middle school and high school students each year.  Young also worked at BoardSource, a nonprofit consulting firm where she worked with nonprofit boards of directors, diagnosing governance related problems and recommending solutions. Young received a Bachelors’ degree in political science and communications from DePauw University and received her Masters’ degree in Child, Youth and Family Studies from the University of Nebraska.
